The Assembly of Disciples

A disciple is a believer that just won’t quit...

Welcome to the Assembly of Disciples.  Right now we meet once weekly at a home in Byron Center, MI.  We also meet privately with people who need spiritual help.  Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings or meet with us privately.  To reach us, give us a call at 616-466-4090.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Jesus made the original mold for the making of a disciple.  We strive to be forged from that mold.  When Jesus picked His first twelve disciples He made it clear what they would be doing.  And He went up into the mountain, and He called near whom He desired.  And they went to Him.  And He made disciples of twelve, that they might be with Him; and that He might send them to proclaim, and to have authority to heal diseases, and to cast out the demons.  (Mark 3:13-15, KJ3).

Jesus taught His disciples the Word, how to heal diseases, and how to cast out demons.  As more disciples were made, they were also sent off to spread the Word, heal diseases, and cast out demons.

Jesus gave His disciples a goal for their lives - the great commission.  The great commission is to make more disciples (from His mold); baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; and to teach them everything He had taught them.  When they asked Jesus how they would know if they were being successful, this is what He said, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.  He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.  And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tonguesthey will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.  So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.  And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen (Mark 16:15-20, NKJV)

Jesus has since ascended to heaven, but He continues to lead His disciples through the Holy Spirit.  We want to help you become sensitive to the Holy Spirit's gentle guidance.  When the Holy Spirit starts to be unleashed through you, the power of God is revealed.  There are many benefits to this including blessing people, revelation of spiritual depth, and proving the Word is true.
